OUR STORY

SoulCraft and Lore

We’re Shibin and Binto—childhood friends from Kerala who set out on bicycles in 2021 with nothing but curiosity, a deep love for culture, and a few hundred rupees. What began as a journey across India quickly became a way of life.

Cycling felt like the right path—not just economical and eco-friendly, but also the best way to truly connect with people and their stories. We started our ride from Kerala on September 21, 2021, and reached Rajasthan two months later. By then, we had no money left—but a head full of ideas.

That’s where the seed of our business was planted. We started with handcrafted leather journals from Rajasthan, which helped us survive and continue traveling. Along the way, Shibin met a Spanish traveler and soon began working with his gemstone company. That friendship turned into years of experience in the world of gemstones. Eventually, Binto joined too, and together we worked on several unique gemstone projects.

But the most powerful part of this journey was always the people—the artisans, the families, the villagers who welcomed us, fed us, and gave us a place to pitch our tents. Their generosity and talent moved us deeply.

SoulCraft and Lore was born from that experience.

This website is a space to showcase and support the incredible craftsmanship of local artists we’ve met throughout our travels. From forgotten villages to remote mountains, we’ve discovered artists with rare skills and soulful stories—this is our way of bringing their work to the world.

In June 2024, we cycled from Punjab to Ladakh—our biggest achievement yet. And still, we’re just getting started.

We hope SoulCraft and Lore helps you discover rare and meaningful pieces of art, craft, and history. And by supporting these works, you’re also supporting the people and villages that shaped our journey.

Thank you for being a part of this.

Let’s keep traveling—together.
